Last year's goals and how I did

2012
Just Do It
Ecclesiastes 9:10
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
  1. I will read my Bible through in an year. Well... no I did not finish
  2. I will work on improving my stamina and flexibility.I can now walk two miles on my heels
  3. I will work on my attitude towards stressful situations.  Well I cannot see a huge improvement but I guess it is there
  4. I want to be able to identify the different constellations so I can find my way around better. I can identify about four more
  5. I want to be caught up in school by the end of this year. Did I really think I could do this? We have had and been getting ready for company all year long, I am about eight months behind.
  6. I will read fifty two educational novels this year. I think I read twenty?
  7. I will publish my book by the end of the year. Not, I started a second blog but after I finished the book I was working on I went back and reread it and well... I am starting completely over at the beginning.
  8. I wish to be able to work with others without getting in a fight on how to and not to do it. I am still stubborn but I am indeed more willing to listen to others and use their ideas.

Backstage Blip-its from The Story For Bobby

As most of you know the past three months I have been working on a Christmas program in my church.

We preformed last night and I am going to say it was interesting. Now I am going to post some backstage blip-its because I have always enjoyed them when others do it.

A Horse Named Trouble

My sister put this on the kindle and after reading the description decided I would read it.

Book Description

 December 16, 2011
A troubled teen must overcome her abusive past to save the defiant horse that has taught her to love and trust again.
Abandoned by her mother at the young age of seven, Tara Cumming’s been passed from foster home to foster home; not wanted anywhere by anyone. At thirteen she finds herself skeptic and suspicious, with no family, no friends, and forced to participate in horse therapy.

Horse therapy “will teach trust, perseverance, respect and the value of teamwork,” or so says the program’s instructor. Tara is unconvinced. Trust only got her heart broken, perseverance only gets her put down, and no one respects or wants to team up with the misfit foster kid.

At the stable, Tara meets Trouble, an angry horse bent on destroying everything and everyone around him. When Tara realizes he’s just as misunderstood and untrusting as she is, she pushes aside her fear and a special relationship is formed. Trouble trusts Tara, and Tara in turn finds hope and acceptance as well as the will to love and trust again herself.

But Tara’s confidence is shaken as a great challenge looms ahead. Trouble’s manipulative owner is determined to have him destroyed because of his ‘dangerous’ nature. Tara must overcome her own limitations and fight to save the horse that has freed her heart and given her life value and meaning.

I found this to be a rather captivating inspiring book. It is written in first person present tense and is about a girl named Tara Cumming.

Since I was nine and was helped by a horse named Powder to learn that there is meaning behind those squiggles on a page (they were called WORDS and they told STORIES), I have been fascinated by learning how horses have helped others.

This story is a excellent example of this very thing. It is well written and very active. If you love horses as much as I do or are curious   on how a horse can help a person this is a must read.

What is up.

(Honestly the ceiling but that is beside the point.)

Sorry I haven't been posting much. Rose has been "helping" me with Christmas presents. *I sigh then give her "the look" she gives me that impish grin*

Also I have been (with Kendra) working on Behind the rainbow. I keep running into the problem of my readers haven't a clue what I'm talking about and Behind the Rainbow is kind of where I was introduced to this culture so I have decide to begin with it.

The world is called Ooladada which I am told means "land of knowledge" beyond that I am not allowed to say.

Kendj and I had this adventure some 5 years ago. And ever since whenever I can I head back to Ooladada.

I will over the next year be posting pictures and be introducing you to the different people in Ooladada. (don't worry there aren't that many.) as well as places. (But not that many.)

today will be my favorite, the four tree.

This tree is not that far from the... portal? I guess I could use that word, to Ooladada.

Here is where you will find me if you cannot find me anywhere else. It is like the best place to read, write, think, cry.... the list goes on on what I do here. it is my favorite place to be in the whole wide world.

Character Encounter: Rose

"Come on you would think they would have Christmas material at Christmas!"
I pace the isle searching in vain for ANYTHING that had to do with Christmas.
Just then I got hit in the back of the head with something knocking me off balance making me go crashing to the floor.
"HEY! What was that for!" I look up to see a girl with bright red hair and green eyes smirking down at me.
"I thought you were looking for Christmas material." She said in a obnoxious tone
I look down and see that is exactly what hit me in the head. I look back up at her and realize I know this girl. "ROSE!" I say a little louder than I should have for a couple of people turn and stare.
"The one and only." she says with a toss of her head. She nonchalantly leans up against the racks. "Anything else?"
"What are you doing here?"
"I am doing what I do best. Finding things."
"ROSE! I mean here, on earth."
"Oh, Is that what this is. I have always wanted to visit Earth."
"Rose," I glance around to make sure nobody is listening. "This is Earth, Humans live on Earth."
"I know that."
I groan. "You are a elving, Elvings belong on Rolimbo."
"Some of us have traveled off world."
I sigh "Here," I say thrusting my shopping list into her hand. "Make yourself useful and find these things get them cut to the proper length then meet me at the checkout and lets get out of here."
Rose, for once doesn't argue. I have landed on one of her favorite things to do. Finding and the both of us are happy... err ... As happy as can be since she does have pointed ears...

The Farrier's Gospel.

One day while I was volunteering at the local Equestrian center I asked the head lady (who also did farrier work) Why every six weeks do you do every horses hoofs. Well... I let this free verse poem I wrote tell you.

I stood one day,
Out of the way,
And I watched the farrier work.
And I asked her,
Why do you do this thing,
Why trim the horses feet.
Said she to me
"I do this thing,
Every six weeks.
And If I did not,
He'd be really sore,
And then how sorry I would be.
And his feet would hurt,
And his legs would too,
And his back,
And his neck,
And his head,
And it throb,
And throb,
So he couldn't do his job.
And then how sorry I would be.
He would trip,
And get really sick,
Then he couldn't help a soul
And he would be,
Truly useless to me.
Cuz' I neglected to do my work.
Said I to her
"I think I understand,
It is kind of like the gospel.
If we don't get it right,
And read it regularly,
Then our faith would truly be sore.
And our feet would hurt
And our legs would too,
And our back,
And our neck,
And our head,
And we'd sob,
And sob,
Cuz' we didn't do our job.
We forgot to read God's word.
She nodded and said
"I never thought of it,
In quite that way,
But indeed you are right,
It is like the Gospel,
There is but one way,
And only one,
To get into heaven.
And if we don't get it right,
We will truly be sore
For we did not do it,
And let God settle the score.

Through Persecution

I am really not sure what to name this song, the titles that I have come up with seem... not right I will put "Through Persecution" on it for now but if you have a suggestion please comment. I will pick the one I like best.

Chorus
What can man,
Do to me?
That can separate me
 From his love. (repeat)
V1
Throw me in the fire?
Cast me in the sea?
Feed me to lions?
Strip me naki?

I tell you the truth,
Even through great pain,
It shall be fore me,
The greatest of gains.
V2
Cast me on the streets?
Kill all of my friends?
Sever my head?
Chastise me again?

I don't care where,
Doesn't matter when,
God has promised me,
In the end he wins.
V3
I've nothing to fear,
I've nothing to dread,
He's here with me,
Whether alive or dead.

Satan's behind it all.
He hated the Son.
So why am I surprised?
When it's all said and done.

And that is my song of thanksgiving for this year, I hope you like it.

The Sillyions strike again!

Shhh, please don't tell V. But we have snuck here to sing you one of our favorite songs.

Verse 1:

Hope we make it there
Chorus:
Chicka, Chicka, boom,
chika, boom,
chika, boom,boom
Chicka, Chicka, boom,
chika, boom,
chika, boom,boom
Chicka, Chicka, boom,
chika, boom,
chika, boom,boom
Hope we make it there!
Verse2:
Oh no, there goes thrusters (Repeat X3)
Hope we make it there
V3
Oh no out of fuel (Repeat X3)
Hope we can find more
V4
Uh, oh there go the engines, (Repeat X3)
Quick go get 'em fixed!
V5
OOpsy-day we are falling! (RX3)
We ain't makin' it there!
V6
Oh shoot! Door won't open!(RX3)
PLEASE let us escape!

DOOOOWWWWNNNNN!

(Splash!)

At least we fell in the water.

May I ask what you girls are doing on my blog?

We are posting the song we wrote.

Did I give you permission?

No, But we doubted you would mind.

What am I going to do with you?

Love us, and hug us, and kiss us, for if we ever did leave you, you surly would miss us.

(Shake head) Girls.... (Trying not to smile) you.. you... (Sigh)

You will let us publish it, won't you? Please don't be mad.

You need to learn to ask before you just do but yes I will let you publish it, I was considering doing it in the future.

Now the Captain is looking for you, I suggest you scoot.

(Both girls salute in they way they had been trained and hurry off.)

Now that they are gone I shall tell you the story behind it. You see Kendra and I both have a moon obsession, so one day when I was out walking I over-heard her singing the first verse. I liked it so I stole it and fixed the song..errr lengthened. oh well I had fun. And that is how it got started.

Dr. Edger

Via Pintrest

Today will be Dr. Edger. He is new in Draicy and quite taken aback with their customs  He grew up on the Planet Quaeo in the Andromeda system.

A few months ago the King of Mikada (The United planets) sent out a call for one Helicra to be the first diplomat to Shama (the planet.) Dr. Edger's third cousins, Dr. Emma and Dr Edna are very close friends with the king, so they suggest that Dr. Edger apply for the job. He got it.

He is a kindhearted man with a great understanding for the way things work in general. He is only in Draicy a few weeks when he visits the courthouse and finds Ashlene looking for a job. He realizes that this is no ordinary Shaitian girl and decides to hire her as a Jump-and-Fetch-it.

Over the next year he becomes a father figure to this lost and lonely girl and her brother. She learns a trade from him while she teaches him her people's culture.

Here I am, Oh LORD.

Here I am, Oh LORD.
By V. Kathie Ardnek

1st verse

Here I am, sitting at your foot stool.
Here I am, down upon my knees.
Here I am, Lord please take me,
Take me and make me what you please!

2nd verse
Here I am, but a piece of clay.
Here I am, in the potter's hand.
Here I am, Lord please shape me,
Shape me and make me what you planned!

3rd verse
Here I am, but a pile of dirt.
Here I am, so vile and unclean.
Here I am, Lord please cleanse me.
Cleanse me so that your beauty be seen!

4th fourth
Here I am, but a piece of Iron.
Here I am, on the smith's anvil.
Here I am, Lord please strike me.
Strike me so you may prevail!
Chorus

Oh!
Here I am O Lord!
Here I am my Father.
Here I am, Oh LORD
Here I am take my hand
And lead me to the Promise Land!
1-3 OH!

ELSIE AND ELISE HAVE BEEN TAGGED!!

I've been tagged by Maryanne.... actually my least favorite characters to work with have been tagged by Maryanne. (Kendra you let your characters get a way with too much) I will tell you right now Kendra came up with them and gave them to me to work with. UGG!! I would like you to meet-

Hi I'm Sarahfina, and this is my sister Mariposa. (Elsie)

No you are Elsie and Elise.

Oh but those names are no fun. (Elise)

Who said it had to be fun!

Oh but V!

UGG!!! As I said these two drive me NUTS! They are completely and toataly INSANE!

We are not insane, we are Sillyions!

Sillyions by definition are insane. I better let you know a bit about them before they tell you and get it all wrong.  Sillyions believe that "If it logical, don't do it." also "if it is expected don't do it." Which, believe me, makes them SOOO chalengeing to work with.

We are't that bad.

Elise, I prefer to be as logical as I can.... why don't you two simply get down to answering the questions before I get a headache.

If you are tagged/nominated, you must post eleven facts about yourself.
- Then, you must answer the eleven questions the tagger has given you and make eleven questions for the people you are going to tag.
- Next, tag eleven more bloggers.
- Tell the people you tagged that you have tagged them.
- No tagging back

First, eleven facts about me:

1. Kendra came up with us because V. needed a bit of ill-logic in her overly logical book.
No Kendra came up with you so I would have a character based on her... thing is somehow I ended up with two of you and I have yet to figure out how that happened
2.We can get out of any prison you put us in.
I won't disagree with that. I normally put them in the brig to get them out of my hair for a day or two.
3. Sillyions are very, very, very, very, very, very very. (enough with the veryes OK) Smart.
Their IQ is well over 200... if only they would use it.
4. Oh we use them, it is just not in the way you would.
   ....
5. We reprogrammed our mother's computer before we were a year old.
And nobody can figure out exactly how it works. Although they still use that same code even today. And some how it is faster and better than the one we use.... I wish they would explain it in a way that someone (other than themselves) can under stand
.6.We are in charge of the entire Library on the Great Bald Eagle, the finest space ship in the entire Mikada Fleet.
7.Daddy is the King of Mikada.
I better inform you what Mikada is before they go any further. Mikada = Mika= many Da= one. (a Sillyion came up with it, obviously.) Mikada Motto: Many planets under one King who serves one God for the good of all. It isn't exactly a empire because each planet has it's own laws and ruler. But they acknowledged King Theodoric as mediator if two or more planets have a disagreement.
8. We are actually True Sillyion Mixers.
When you are dealing with multipul people groups you are bound to have them inter breed. They are true because the don't really know exactly how many groups they have in their "tree."
9. V. really does like us.
   ELISE! SHHHH!
10. Kathie and V. Both hate admitting that they like us. but they really do.
You can't win for loosing with these two! Kathie is their little half sister. their mother died in childbirth with their baby-sister Sally and their father remarried a- HUMAN!- Thank-you girls.
11. And that was our idea. We hoodwinked daddy in to visiting Earth and....(alright don't give away the plot OK)

Now for them to answer the questions. (SIGH) MARYANNE!!! let's just hope I can control them with this... This isn't exactly a book where I can always turn tables on them or throw them in the brig or something like that to get them to behave here they are free to just be themselves without me to control them.

1. How many knives do you usually have concealed on your person? I'm not going to ask where you conceal them, but if you want to answer that, you may. Cary a knife.... hummm... you know it might be smart to do that. Hey Elise, do you think we could ask Peter to teach us how to fight with a knife?
Peter is a little busy, although he might. We could always ask Tom, The Chief of security to teach us how to use a knife since that is his favorite weapon.
IF you girls don't mind will you please stick to your Zepha and quarterstaves?
But V!

I've been tagged!

I've been tagged! Kendra of Knitted By God's plan has tagged me in a fun, getting-to-know-you, just because tag! I love tags!

1. Coffee or Tea?  In the morning Coffee, in the evening Tea

2. You win a thousand dollars!  What would be something fun that you do with it? Put it in the bank? Maybe put it to either my music or animal hobby. I don't know.

3. You're given the opportunity for the lead part in a play.  Would you take it? Definitely. I love acting! The only part that I like better is the know it all.

4. Would you rather sing, play an instrument, or listen? I don't know. I have a nice voice and I love to sing. I know how to play two interments (Piano and Violin) But I also like to listen... as long as the person singing hits notes and doesn't butcher them.

5. Are you more of a chit-chat person?  Or sporty? I hate sports. I never have had the energy to do any of them But I can talk your ears off if you let me. LOL

6. Did you ever have an unrealistic dream as a child?  If so, what was it? I wanted to own and ride a dino.

7. Have you fulfilled any of the dreams that you had as a child?  If so, what where were they? Dream of when I was a kid.... My major dream when I was little was to get rid of Asthma and that has yet to happen. I have learned to play the violin, and that was a biggie for me. I am learning to play the piano. (That bass clef is tricky)

8. What's that one place in the world that you've always wanted to visit? You do have to ask that. Oh shoot... One place. Uhhhh I want to go to Florida, Hollywood, Alaska, Japan, Africa, China, tour Europe, go to the moon, visit Israel, go to Australia

9. What book character do you always find yourself imitating? Kathwren Elizabeth Neiador

10. What's your favorite season? Spring, All those FLOWERS and the trees smell nice and my asthma behaves itself.

11. What are some of your favorite blogs to read?  Scribblings of my pen and tappings of my keyboard  Eagle Nest Momma, Pretrib ActavistKnitted By God's planhttp://blessingsfortheheart.blogspot.com/  etc. etc. You can look on my blog list on the sidebar for a good sample of the lovely blogs I read.

12. How long have you been blogging? This blog is brand new, But I have another blog for school and I have been working on it since 2009

Okey dokey.  And then the rules are:

1. Answer the questions.
          Done.
2. If you wouldn't mind mentioning the blog of origin, The Golden Road, and the person who tagged you, that would be lovely.
          Done!
3. Tag 5 to 10 people and let them know you tagged them.

.... that's going to be a bit difficult cuz I don't really know anybody. Oh well if you want to do it, steal it. I don't care

Marching to heaving (song I wrote)

First verse:

Marching onward,
Ever upward,
Going foreword,
Ever upward,
Going on ward,
And were not looking back.
Second verse:
Two, four, six, eight,
Marching towards the pearly gate.
Ten, Twelve, Fourteen,
Going upwards to see our King.
Third:
Mixing together,
Getting to know one another,
Hand in hand, here we stand,
Together forwards together on.
chorus:
Marching to heaven.
Up wards to heaven.
Going forwards,
Ever up wards.
Going on-wards,
And were not looking back.

My Little Problem

I wrote this one two years ago. I have transferred it from my other blog.
I have a little problem,
And that problem's name is me.
And when I look into the mirror
That problem looks back at me.

I go down to the park,
And right before my eyes
I find my little problem,
Even though my heart cries.

I go down to the store.
And what do you think I find
I find my little problem
I so wish I could put it behind.

I am relaxed in my chair,
And a child comes rushing in.
I find my little problem,
And it's name is little sins.

Ashlene of Dracie

Pinned Image
Via: Pintrest

I am going to start introducing some of my favorite character  from the books I am working on. Today will be Ashlene.

When her book starts she is about seven years old. She has just been hired/Apprenticed to Dr. Edger as a Jump-and-Fetch-It. (Which will be the name of her book.) She lives whith her Older brother Evander and a elderly lady they call Nonny (Grandmother.) Nonny had Adopted the children two years earlier.

Both children have pale skin, hair, and eyes, and acute imaginations. And Nonny is a dark elderly lady with snow white hair.

Ashlene is normally quite sweet, but she does have  temper. The boy next door has a scar on his cheek where she threw a shoe at him after he called her "Corn silk."

Ashlene favorite place to be is in the meadows outside the city. Here you will find both children in the early mornings. They are the only ones who would DARE do such. For, it is rumored to have strange people and creatures that live in the in between land. Here both children are free to discuss anything freely.

She also loves the moments spent with Dr. Edger in the Healing gardens during breaks. After growing up without a father Dr. Edger quickly becomes this to this lost, insecure little girl. He is more to her than just someone she is learning a trade from, he is also the answer to "What am I." For he is the only other person other than her brother in all of Draicie (The town where she lives) who has blond hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. Dr. Edger is always willing and happy to help this child learn to use her gifts of healing and compassion to the benefit of her family, friends, and the rest of town.

MY NaNo project

With NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) coming up in just one week I have decided to give you a snip-it of what I will be working on.

(If you have read my other blog, you probably have already read this.)

This story originally was written for a contest but I didn't win. Well people kept saying that this should be turned into a novel so for NaNoWriMo this will be the book I work on.

Enjoy!

A roosters call broke through the mornings silence

Lady Katherine sat up and stretched. The soft pre-dawn light shone through the gigantic window near her bed.

The  rooster  sounded once again.

She stood up and again stretched. She glanced back at the warm bed. It was tempting, Man was it tempting, but no,  she was not going to climb back into bed and miss her morning calm.

She slipped into a soft flowing green gown.  She let the feeling of the material warm her soul. She began to sing a happy, but calm song. This was the beginning of her morning calm.

She glanced at her desk; a solid oak desk covered in papers to be read, documents  that needed to be sighed, and numerous reports began... but never finished.  This was tempting. But no, she was not going to miss the morning calm.

She picked up her flute and began to play the tune while she danced out her down the stairs, out to the square, and through the almost empty streets of the town. This was her morning calm.

"Lady Katherine!" The baker’s deep voice reached ear. "Would you like some bread?"

She shook her head. No, she was not going to eat now. The outpost was having a food shortage and she was not going to take from her subjects. Part of being a leader, she had learned two years earlier when she had become the leader at age twenty-five, was that they had to have more self-control than anybody else. She would not eat more than her ration, No matter how tempting. Two days... two days and the supply ships would come and they would have food. But would she let her stomach steal her morning calm? No!

She danced on, cross the meadow, and to the lake. She slipped off her sandals and stood in the cool, cool water. Her eyes closed as the sun rose, her fingers slowing so she felt the music as well as the early sun. This was her morning calm.

A calm that was for a moment, like a vapor that disappears too soon, her worries, and fears were absent. The morning’s joys filling her heart for now she was part of the music, a part of the calm about.

The birds, as they awoke, joined in her song. Each of the many voices was a wonderful thing, a twitter, a tweet, now here, now there; this was part of the calm. This was indeed the beautiful morning calm.

Oh how she loved this moment. How she longed for it every day. As the music fill the meadow, and crossed every one of the glades. The peace that rarely was present, was here. A peace that was sweet, a peace that was full of hope, like a hug to the weary, or a kiss to the sad, this was her morning calm.

Now the moment was gone, the moment of wonderful joy. The clock told her the time, the time to start the day. This was the end of her moment. But a moment spent in a special way. She left the water so cool; Slipped on her shoes, and returned to the meeting hall, to be part of her people, their trials, and the pain, till tomorrow when she would be here again.
